Health Information Exchange
WVHIN’s robust Health Information Exchange (HIE) service allows providers to “query” or look up available patient health information within a network.
AMBULATORY INTEGRATION
The WVHIN is currently integrated with numerous provider organizations across the region. Ambulatory Connectivity will focus on expanding integrations with providers in multiple care settings beyond the hospitals to include both physician practices and post-acute care facilities.
ENCOUNTER NOTIFICATION SERVICE (ENS)
ENS enables physicians to receive real-time alerts when a patient is hospitalized.
WV E-DIRECTIVE REGISTRY
The West Virginia Health Information Network (WVHIN) offers health care providers access to the WV e-Directive Registry. This registry, hosted by the WV Center for End of Life Care, is the most comprehensive online all-inclusive advance directive and medical order registry in the United States.
WVDIRECT
WVDirect is a simple, encrypted messaging solution for health care providers. Essentially secure email, WVDirect allows health care providers to quickly share messages and health information need to provide patient care. Providers may choose to access WVDirect through the WVHIN’s HIE or as a stand-alone service.
